I’m basing this on what I’ve learned from listening to csa survivors. Making it harder for predators to prey on them means they get preyed on less.
I don’t care if the useless bandaid solutions that many have proposed are less uncomfortable for people. I care about what actually works.
as someone who has actually reported CSA to child protective services, got someone else permafired for taking advantage of minors, facilitated HR reports of inappropriate treatment of teens, & has been trained, and worked, as a mandated reporter for nearly a decade: this is genuinely accurate.
I'm not an expert in the field, but based on firsthand experience and conversations with every single one of these people re: how these things could have been prevented (and how they WERE prevented from going any further than initial comments), knowledge and empowerment are FAR more effective than relying on adults to detect Creepy Vibes in other adults before children are harmed.

Sometimes recovery is getting up early, being super productive, and making sure you’re on top of things like hygiene habits and even doing extra.
And sometimes it’s laying in bed because you can’t stop crying and can’t face the world. Sometimes it’s not showering or things like that for periods of time.
Both of these are okay and anything in between. And it’s okay to have bad days even after a period of doing well.
